Essays, projects piling on your to do list. Homework in stacks. I didn't even understand the latest math subject, and it seems like everyone else does. Why didn't I watch that video? It probably wouldn't have helped me understand.
We all know school. We've been there. We remember, or still have, the essays and projects stacking on our desks. It lowers our self-esteem, just because you didn't get that one subject in English or Math Class. We beat ourselves up, thinking we're stupid, just because we got one "simple problem" wrong.
Most of the teachers don't help either. They yell and scream whenever you screw up the answer, or accidentally mutter something under your breath. "You STILL don't understand?" It seems like under the cloak of their words, they say, "You have the intelligence of a 1st grader."
Just because you didn't spell that one word right on your assignment, or just because you got those two problems wrong on your math test, doesn't mean you're worthless. They tell you. But despite those A'S and B's, you can't help feeling like you could do better - and never will.
It makes you feel worthless. We wrap ourselves in this cloak of darkness and can't see the light. When you see others comparing their grades - "I got straight A's!" You look at that one B on your report and feel worthless. Like you got an F. When you see others comparing their math scores - "I got 100 percent!" And you can't help looking at that 98 percent and sighing.
Sometimes it turns into a popularity contest. You see all those beautiful, popular girls, and think you'll never be that pretty. Never be that loved. You see their handsome boyfriends, and think, I'll never have anyone like that. They walk up to you, insult you, leave you as a broken shell.
They're always rude and mean, why are they popular again? Because they're pretty. Something we'll never be. Or at least, you've been told a million times you'll never be. It maybe true. You start to consider the worst possibilities. What you've been told by the bullies and popular kids.
You want to die. You think you're useless, unintelligent, a waste of space. But that? That's just what they tell you. Is that true? Most likely, no. They bully others for being unique - something we all are, though they don't realize it. So, don't consider it. Don't clutter your brain with these horrible thoughts.
They're just lies anyway.
