I'm only in eighth grade, but I'm so stressed. Idk what's wrong with me. I can't focus on homework ever. After I'm done procrastinating for literally forever, I pick up my book for English, and my mind goes blank. I read out loud, but I still zone out and immediately forget what I read. I've always been an advanced reader, but know I don't know what is happening. I feel like it is the book, it is really boring and annoying to read. When I read books for fun, I read just fine. I want to be able to focus on my school reading, but I just can't. I feel like I can't focus on anything anymore with out freaking out, getting even more stressed, and sometimes even crying because I get so frustrated. I'm trying to do a project rn, but I can't focus and haven't gotten anything done. I need advice, someone please help!!!!

Please don't self blame yourself too much. I've worked as an education specialist and credentialed schoolteacher for pupils of all grade levels to address things as you present.
It's very common the experiences you present in your remarks. They can be caused by a long list of possible reason(s): emotional, social, physical, cultural, even spiritual and financial pressures, and on and on.
Please don't beat yourself up for feeling inadequate or unsure. There are many people typically available at a school to help you. A start is your teachers, but sometimes teachers are focused mostly on curriculum and instruction.
Sometimes your issues have nothing to do with you whatsoever. It may be the teacher is presenting information in a way that isn't really working.
Hopefully you can contact your school's counseling department to get the needed support and assistance. There are often specialists at schools who can give you a battery of tests to determine what is really going on.
It's really commendable you are realizing there is a concern. Sometimes students for a variety of reasons wait until the report cards come out and realize there is a problem.
Again, don't start self blaming or being down on yourself. Check with your school's counseling department. If there isn't such a thing see your school administration. It's required by law in many countries you get the necessary educational help.
I commend you for trying to address this very common educational situation. Help is available!
ReplyHi, could you try to go out for a walk or a run or any exercise of your interest? I find myself feelling much happier/hyper after running.
ReplySo for me school was really hard! I was going thru a rough time! And with your problem I feel like you need to take deep breths and maybe be involved in a school activity! Maybe you’ve done so much and your not getting what you want out of it! You work so hard and get nothing back. Like almost you need a break! Go do something fun! Spend time with your friends!
