I think of someone struggling whenever I picture a mental illness. I picture a struggle. My mind goes kind of dark and gloomy when I hear the word, and my heart feels a pinch because I know how big of a deal that phrase is. If I hear someone say "my mental illness" I feel that they are suffering. If I hear someone say "their mental illness" I feel that 'they' are suffering. Mental illness is very serious, and it isn't to be taken lightly. Mental illness has such a big impact on the littlest things in someone's life; something as little as not wanting to do anything for days, not even clean your room. And you forget to eat, and avoid talking to anyone at all cost which makes people upset which unfortunately, could hurt you more because there is no way you, with mental illness, could explain to someone without mental illness well enough why you are the way you are in a way that they could truly understand. Mental illness is not a joke, and never just diagnose yourself with a mental illness, always be clinically diagnosed. It is not a word to throw around, it is serious.
(talking in 2nd person for perspective, not meant to confuse anyone).

I think selfishly about my own mental illness and despair
ReplySomething I get called by someone who has no right to call me that.
ReplyI don't like saying things like" I have a mental illness" because it then feels like because im saying that, that I want them to feel sorry for me.
