In to the economy today
We are PEOPLE,
Under the toxic influence of the world around us.
For our NATION boasts its more than ample wealth
Need we knickknacks and fidgets to fill our time?
Nay
Do we want them?
Yea
Yet, my friend
We need worry of the welfare of our brethren nations
Before hopping straight to our desires.
We need slow our sprint.
For this, my friend
Tis no race
The Natives who once trod on our land before
They now weep
For we’ve taken it as ours
Modernized it
And even worse
We killed their food
Without reason
They made a living
Until we came along.
Yes, I believe
That we can revert
Back to our primal ways
Apparently, the meaning of this
Means watching society crumble
Wrong
It just means
That we live on the foundation
That we had
Years ago
But in a different way
Just as our Guinea Bissauan brethren do.
Need I say
There are no first
Second
Or third world countries.
We all
Live
On one planet.
Her name is mother earth.
So, let Mali and her friends find out the industry
Or not
For we are one world
And one people
Who were all meant to progress together.
It isn’t a race.
Does this mean anarchy?
That some of Awful Mr. 45’s successors are gone?
That we have angry people?
Must you know why I ponder this idea?
I
Am
A
MODERN-DAY
LUDDITE
More or less
