I’m going to give myself a real stick and poke tattoo with good ink and probably good needles (total cost is about $8 for 10 needles and an ounce of black India ink with free shipping from amazon). It’s going to be on my ankle, probably a little star for my desert aesthetic. Anyways, I want it to be nice and I did a bunch of research and stuff. Then I wanted to see if I could do it with a safety pin and calligraphy pen ink just to see if I could do the pokes right and if I could just scrape ink into the pierces. I did it in my upper thigh so it would be easy to access, relatively painless, and easy to hide and ignore. It turns out I can tattoo like that. Now I have an uneven spotty line in my thigh. I didn’t really want that but I don’t know what I thought was going to happen. I cleaned all my stuff with witch hazel so I think I’m pretty good. I also put neosporin and a bandaid on it. When it scabs I think I’ll just mess with that and try to soak it in water and stuff to leach the stuff out a bit so it at least fades significantly. now I know I can do it, I just have to decide on a design and get my equipment and find some time and make a nice stick and poke.
So I guess that’s a thing I did.
