I work as part of a team in the community under the guidance of a professional. This professional (lets call him BB) is being childish, manipulating, disrespectful and very calculating towards me. He is finding all reasons to nitpick things at me. Things that are not always necessarily related to the business.
I love my job. I love doing everything about my job and I know and accept my boundaries within my job title.
I have worked at this business for several years. Then several months ago the business changed hands and the BB was employed not long after the change. BB has less than 2 years in this profession.
Here is a list of things happening-
1) Being the manager I am responsible for the welfare of the staff and BB had repeatedly asked young assistant to call other professionals and talk to them on his behalf which is outside the assistants job title. Big no no. Its BB responsibility to do this and part of his job title. The assistant got a bit upset and told me this happened. So I approached BB and explained what happened and to not ask others to do his job for him. After I got back from lunch I was confronted by BB who spoke loudly to me and called me a liar. He said I am a liar. BB asked assistant if she had a problem with him to which the assistant replied no. So BB called me a liar and said I was making up stories.
2) For a few weeks I noticed that BB kept taking my tasks out of my hands and doing them for me and we have to use our initials to state who did the task. I thought he was being helpful as I have been swamped with a lot of things. I gladly let him as I thought he wanted something to do and it meant I was free to do many of the other things managers have to do (these other tasks don't require an initial to show who did it). I find out today that he had a reason why he was doing this. My boss calls me to say BB has complained to him about me. Boss said BB told him that i was a poor worker and not doing my job properly. Boss said BB showed him the tasks to point out that I had done less tasks than him. All of a sudden I realised how calculating he is being.
3) Many things in this job requires all staff to often refer to BB. We are frequently either being ignored while customer is waiting or all we get is a grunt from BB as his mood changes dramatically so I have step up to keep customer relations good for the business. I end up doing a lot of his jobs as he sits there and actively refuses to be professional.
This is just a couple examples of what is going on. I do not know what to do. I do not know how to react. My boss is understanding and hears my concerns but says he cant fire him as no one else to take over his job.....

I used to work with bullies in the work place they really suck. One job i had they tried to entrap me before letting me go.
Anyway whoever this bb is try to get any and all proof against them you can whether its recording conversations or whatever and also if all of you can go together and complain about this bb person to hr maybe something may be done about them but it might take the whole group doing it to accomplish it.
And again let me state i hate bullies they made my work life a living hell i had to report many. I hope it works out for you.
