i have ocd. it's not with the common things, like neatness or tapping. i have to replay a sentence, a spelling, or a counting over and over and over. there's some other things too, but that's not the point of this. i also have to have everything in even numbers.
i also have ocd with making everything equal and fair. it has to be, or else i feel like I'm going out of my mind. when i make food for me and my brother, (I'm 16) we each have to have the same number of items. I've even gone so far as to count the pieces of broccoli. it's escalating quickly. it is a problem, considering i know for a fact life isnt fair. idk what to do. please help

I think you should talk to a health professional as you sound like you may need help or medication or something ( I apologise if you have already done these things). I personally know people who have ocd trust me you are not alone. Also if this is something that is just happening recently or these new obsessions/compulsions are just happening perhaps they are not as bad as you may feel. I often find many people like things to be neat or may do weird things but it doesn’t necessarily mean they have OCD. I hope you get better and figure out some coping mechanisms.
ReplyThe first thing to realize is that, you can't control it, and even if you can, With some super power () please don't do that, There is a butterfly effect at work, and it's really awesome.........Things always get better, with time.........with time, You will realize these things, When my OCD started I didn't even know that there is thing named OCD, I found out about 2 years ago, and I was in it, without knowing for about 6-7 years and even when I found out I thought it was something planned to keep me down or something........its these 7-8 months, that I have been controlling it, So believe me, you'll be fine.......but you ought to try to resist........resist everything that comes to mind before bed, and when wanna going to sleep, you can let it go (cause that's really hard) listen to music or watch movies before that......also, I kinda have to warn, it got really scary when I tried to quit it too fast, that period was hell, so take time......It doesn't gets better but you can obviously control it down to about 17 percent.......
ReplyPlease note that, it's "you can't control everything" and not "it" cause ofc you can control it, otherwise I wouldn't be here .......
ReplyI started going to an anxiety specialist when my anxiety got out of hand and it is the best choice I’ve ever made for myself. If you get the chance, talk to somebody qualified and trust me, you will start to feel better and learn tricks to cope better.
