So I am in my third year of college, and I am rooming with a friend that I met in college. We both are fairly good friends and get along really well. It is now a few months in to rooming with this friend, and I have started to notice that they are less friendly towards me. They are acting a bit distant or annoyed with me, such as not seeming interested in speaking that much while in the car together and all around not wanting to spend as much time together. I understand that they need their own space within the apartment, and that we obviously do not or should not spend every second together. However, I am not sure if they are being intentionally distant because of something that I did or if I'm starting to irritate them for some reason. I also don't know if I'm just being insecure and what they are doing is perfectly normal. I want to ask them if everything is alright and if I am doing something to annoy them, but I'm not sure if that's appropriate, especially if they are not purposefully acting distant. I am used to my long-time non-college friends being very open with one another, so having a friendship with someone who is not ready to be open with their thoughts is something new to me. I appreciate any advice or response to this situation. Thanks!
