Dear Mom,
This is my second letter to you, but it feels like the first. You know what you did. You beat me, raped me, gave me drugs and alcohol, cursed at me, vented to me, brainwashed me...
And yet I still love you. I still miss you. I hate it, but it's the truth. Is that so wrong? Is it so wrong as a daughter to want a mother? Is it?!?!
But I know I can't. It's too late. I burned that bridge. It's gone, nothing but ashes to be blown away by the wind or sweeping water.
There's nothing you can do to make me forgive you. I'll never go back. I may regret, but I wouldn't take it back. I did the right thing.
~Your nearly-13-year-old daughter
