I'm lately feeling so down, because of my grades. Some people might think that this isn't that big of a deal, but I've never gotten anything below a 110%, literally. But since a few months, they've been going down, and even when I study the entire night, I can't do it. I don't know what to do. Lately I've been crying myself to sleep. Please help.

Hi, really felt the need to rant about this. I have a D in my Honors ELA class, just because I didn't turn in one assignment. It is only a couple weeks into th...

Please read this... please...
My friend was talking about how “bad” her grades are and she says her lowest grade is in humanities as a 94, and that made me feel awful, I don’t really...
I want to say that I get how you feel;; as someone who has very high expectations for herself I know what it's like when your grades drop and you can't fix it. Do you think that maybe part of the problem is stress? If it is you could set a little bit of time aside on the weekends to just relax for about half an hour- if that doesn't help then I guess you can reply to this comment thread? I'll do my best to check it in case you need more help :)
ReplyYou have to realize that none of us are perfect. You're obviously a good student. Sometimes our attention span can get short and cause people to not retain things. Maybe youre burned out from overworking. Idk but youre definitely not a failure. Just keep working at it and do your best.
ReplyHonestly, I can relate 100%. Grades stress me out a lot but I've learned how unhealthy it is to obsess over them. I know the crushing feeling you get when study so hard for a test only to fail. But obsessing over them won't do you any good. If you keep pushing and pushing and pushing towards that grade you're going to burn yourself out. Try not to overwork and put aside some relaxation time. Get enough sleep. Take care of yourself. I don't know much about your exact situation but I do know that sometimes, getting some rest can really start to make you feel better. If you get a bad grade on something, that DOES NOT make you a failure. If you honestly tried your best then you haven't failed. I personally hold myself to very high standards but I'm trying to be more lax with expectations. If you really don't understand the material, is it possible to get assistance? Maybe a teacher or some classmates would be willing to help. It's okay to need help. I hope you feel better soon. Feel free to message me if you need advice.
ReplyThis seems kinda brutal to say, but grades don't matter in the long run. No employer really cares. They are just numbers. I care about your personality, your morals, not how high you can score on a test.
