I'm going through a rough time and people are telling me to look at the bright side. In reality, those people don't know what I'm going through so their telling me to look on the bright side is not helpful. I actually recently posted on this site and it was the same. 'You can think of it in a more positive way' 'you're only looking at the negatives.' Well guess what? Sometimes there IS no positive side. So telling someone to look for it isonly going to make themfeel worse because they never end up finding it! Ie been looking for the positive side of things for my entire life and shoving down the negatives. Well now they are all bubbling up and rising to the surface and there is so much of it that the positivelight went out. It's gone. Why live in a world hat has no more up-side? There's no point. I want to end my life but the though of death just kind of scares me... I'm running out of options. Somebody please help...

FRIENDS ARE SO CONFUSING
hi, just need some advice, ok for a lil background info. theres this person x who has been a great friend since she joined the school we've always been really...
It's okay to look at the negatives. It's unrealistic to only look at the positives because nobody can do that. I get it, sometimes there really isn't any good side to a situation, or a life. But there is a point to life. There's more to life than this feeling that you have right now. I know because I've been there. I've been to the point where I'm sitting in my room holding that knife, and then that knife turned into a gun. I understand that feeling of hopelessness. But I promise you there is more to this life than what your brain is telling you. I've realized that the point of life is to love. In whatever way that may be. Friends, family, partners, animals, whatever or whoever it is. I promise that you are loved, even if you can't see it right now. You do not have to focus on the positive. You're allowed to be a mess and you're allowed to look at the negative, and complain about it. It's only natural. But don't stay in the negative for too long, please. Just try to remember that there's love in this world waiting for you. You just have to live long enough to find it, if you haven't yet.

ReplyI have no idea what you have done to try and help your pain. if you really want to get better you have to want to get better. counsellor, anti-depressants, finding new hobbies etc. don't stay alone all the time. staying alone leaves your mind vulnerable and overthink stuff in life.
