I never thought I'd be in such a good place. After years of extreme depression, anxiety & drug abuse whilst also dealing with ADHD as an adult, losing my mum two years ago and finally the coronavirus taking its toll on my mental health lol. I was at such a low point a couple of months ago, sobbing on my kitchen floor whilst on hold to 111 contemplating taking my own life because I just didn't want to exist anymore but the thought of putting the people who care about me in so much pain because I wouldn't accept help. I was in denial, consumed by drugs, depending on them to make me feel better but feeling so much worse. My girlfriend left me because she couldn't handle it anymore, I feel sick whenever I think back to that time in my life but two months later, I'm two months sober from alcohol and cocaine. I still smoke weed occasionally but it helps with my ADHD but I have cut down a hell of a lot. My girlfriend saw how well I was getting on, I went to the doctors and got some anti-depressants and they seem to be working. I'm learning to love myself properly, embracing the journey I've encountered over the past few years. I'm so proud of myself and I must of said that about 100 times this week because its true. I've worked so hard to get where I am and I'm happy.. finally.
