What I am about to say in this post will probably be controversial, but I don't care. If we don't change our mindset there will never be generational change.
In 100 years from now there will still be a white man who brutally murders a black man. At what point is it not racist? There will always be bad people in this world. We need to stop labeling, and change our language or we will NEVER overcome racism. What are we currently teaching our children?
If you want to make a difference, help someone. Protesting seems to only be dividing us more. Find a positive way to actually make a difference. I have recently helped 2 black colleagues get promoted in my company.
If you want to reply to this with various statistics and using the words black, white, and blue in different sentences, you are part of the problem. We are one, and that is what we need to teach our children. Things will not change until we have that mindset.
It also really makes me sick that we are not focusing on the 104 people shot and 14 killed, including children, in my city over the weekend. We should be marching for that. We need to come together to stop all acts of violence.
