Back to work anxiety
I've just heard from my manager that managers only are going back to work on the 20th and its really messing me up, I feel so sick to the stomach, can't breathe...
I tend to go numb and "check out" when I hit that point, but I totally understand-- a few little things happened this week that sent me into a depressive tailspin, and being physically isolated made it so much worse. I felt completely alone... Until I talked to my sister. She's my lifeline and sanity when I hit these lows. Even if she's not the person who actually helps me sort out my emotions, talking to her pulls me far enough out of them to reach out to someone who can help, like my mom or psychologist. Do you have a person like that in your life? After I explained what I was going through one time, she now calls me as soon as I send her a message that says "help" or "I'm falling apart" and it totally saves me. Find that person. Tell someone-- a friend, a family member, a classmate, anybody-- that you're having a tough time and ask them if you can text when you're having a bad day. Even if all they can say is "I love you" or "Thanks for reaching out, do you want to talk?" it'll help. And if you feel like you don't have anybody like that in your life, reach out to somebody anyway-- it's easy to underestimate how much someone cares about us and I'm sure there's somebody that's ready to be there for you. Until then, an internet stranger hopes that even this little contact can make you feel less alone <3
