I love God. I have started to care a lot more too. I pray and read the bible everyday. I just want to be enough to him, but I know I'm not because sometimes I doubt he exists. I want to be a good follower and I want to go to heaven. I want God to know that I love him and would do anything to prove that. If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

ReplyAre you happy? Do you want to forge a closeness with someone who does not always communicate in ways that make sense to humans? It gets lonely, certainly, like a parent always gone on business. He gave me so much, but it felt like trinkets to keep me happy. I wanted Him, not stuff. I remember the first time I encountered the Holy Spirit, it was the purest love and genuine joy I felt ever, nothing since has come close to that feeling. If you want to make Him happy, be you, He made you specifically, even your doubts have a purpose in love. You seek to grow and mature, and you are. Keep on being who you wish, then each step will be shown, choices you can make on your own time. He is patient, I cursed at Him, yelled at Him, told Him to sod off, but He saw past my anger for living, and just let me vent. He held my heart afterwards in an embrace, letting me know it was safe to share my real feelings. He knew I was lonely and scared. He loves you, and will give you more signs if you want them, just explore where you wish.
ReplyIt's ok to doubt. If God created you with an intellect, and questions, it only makes sense that you should question. That doesn't mean you're a bad person or not a good follower. It means you're a smart human being that wants to know the truth about the world. You should keep questioning, and see what answers it leads you to. Don't be afraid to find out the truth and your true beliefs.
I questioned as well and felt a lot of guilt at first. I finally gave myself permission to find the truth and it felt so liberating. I would encourage you to find out what you really believe. That's actually a really beautiful thing, and nothing to be afraid of when I look back on it.
