She refuses to go to the doctor. She won't, or can't think of how this will impact us. Without her, we'll lose our home, we'll have to give away the cats.
She was just starting to reconnect with one of her nephews.
I'm so tired because I'm the only one doing housework, cooking, cleaning, laundry. It's all on my shoulders along with getting my mom in and out of the wheelchair to use the toilet.

That's what you do when you care about someone....
ReplySometimes love is work and is hard but you do what you need to do. Love isn't all puppy dog tails and rainbows. Sometimes it pushes you to the very brink of exhaustion.
ReplyCaring for anyone is very unrewarding work because you aren't receiving anything in return. Try to find an organization that will send someone to your home to care for your mother now and then so that you can have a rest. She needs to be washed as well as helped to the toilet. Talk to your mother about how her refusing to go to a doctor impacts you and try to get her to see sense, and if she won't listen to you get the nephew or somebody else try to get through to her. I know this is hard for you and I am sorry you are in this position. Best wishes.
