Awful Free form "Poem" About My Current Situation and what I wish I could say to you

I think of you and my heart races
The butterflies come and
I am taken back to all the times I felt young
Free, reckless and wild
Climbing out windows on a hot summer night
Sneaking down to the creek
A belly full of whiskey burning with lust for the hours when the world slept and I could truly come to life
How we would howl at the Moon
And dare the end times to come
Oh what I wouldn't give to go back
What I wouldn't do to be young again
And feel the change in the air as the sun creeps up
Riding the melancholy beginning of the end of the high
Searching our souls in desperation of connection and purpose
How my heart bled in those hours
How the blood gave way to a cathartic rain
Beauty and pleasure in the pain
As if the sky cried out as a proxy
I savored every broken heart
Every panic, every smile, every laugh.
I wish we had known eachother in those simpler times.
It pains me to think of how many times we may have passed as ships in the night
Those days are gone.
Those people are gone.
Those smiles, the rain, the light and the broken hearts are gone too.
I am empty.
I am alone.
I am caged.
But with you the clock ticks backwards
And I see I am still young yet
That I don't have to feel empty, and I don't want to be alone.
You help me see through the bars of my cage, and imagine they are merely an illusion
That there's any way I could ever again be so free and light-hearted.
You are that hope in the sky before the world awakens
But do I crave you or the way you bring me back to life?
