Any suggestions on how to speak publicly without being scared?
The thing is I prepare what to say then when i am about to speak somewhow I just forget everything I have prepared and say something which is completely irrelevant. My palms get sweaty, throat closes up, hands shake and I am just a mess. I have tried breathing deeply before speaking up and motivating myself but just nothing seems to work.

You are a good person

Don't prepare what you want to say, let it flow naturally, I had the same problem years ago still happens sometimes but only if I overthink it all, just relax it'll all be Ok, you'll get past this
ReplyWrite speeches, learn each one and say them in front of your family, or family and friends. When you get used to this pretend that the audience is your family and friends.
ReplyHey, I'm the singer in a rock band and let me tell you I ALWAYS get terrified before showtime. What helps is to prepare a witty line in the event that you screw up. If you can make fun of yourself, your audience will loosen up, and in turn that'll loosen you up. Of course it's best if you don't screw up! But if you do, use that as an opportunity to laugh and sorta poke fun at yourself.
ReplyI'm not super at public speaking these things calm me down a little bit.
I'd say listening to a song that gets you really pumped up right before delivering your speech helps
And also this one might sound weird but act like your playing a character and that they're not judging you they're judging the character
Good luck!
ReplyOh also if you need a song to get you pumped up I always use some kind of happy pop-punk song like 'the only diffrence...' by panic! At the disco. It may not sound that happy but trust me it's a bop
