I need help I have become terribly addicted to reading books no joke. I am fascinated with books but it’s come to the point I can’t do my school work without thinking about a book I’m reading and I can’t even sleep at night cause I stay up reading. Does anyone have any coping skills because my head is starting to hurt from lack of sleep.

I write for distraction maybe you can try it too. I instantly fall asleep writing sometimes.
ReplyI love writing books as well, but I get inspiration from reading a lot of different types of books.
ReplyI used to be a book addict too (sigh, the good days). Most times, you would find me curled up in my little reading nook, with a Roald Dahl or Charles Dickens or simply Harry Potter. Alright, listen to this. Go get some sleep. And then wake up refreshed, and continue reading! Look at it this way - the quicker you finish your schoolwork, the more unstressed reading time you have. And the better sleep you have, the more you can enjoy your work!
ReplyI gotta say that's the best addiction I've ever heard :) But if it's getting to be a problem, maybe you can try studying in a group to help keep you focused?
ReplyI could try that.
Replydistract yourself with other things and it'll seem useless at first, but keep at it. i also recommend only reading for a certain amount per day? limit yourself to like, 5 chapters, or 2 hours of reading each day and reach out to a friend/family member about it to help you? my friend is super obsessed with books too, not sure if she's addicted as you, but she tries to busy herself and finds her own, personal ways to draw her back to reality
ReplyBut I read books to help my mental state. When I don’t read books it feels like all the feelings I’ve been holding in are about to burst out.
ReplyMake a firm decision to not read when you go to bed. Put books and reading aside because your bed is for sleep. You can play relaxation music to help you fall asleep. Concentrate on the music and push all intruding thoughts away as you relax and fall asleep.
ReplyI can try that
ReplyMaybe give the book/s to someone and tell them not to give you them back until you say so, or unless they see evidence of you having finished the work you’d tell them of before they take the book/s.

Ok kinda unrelated, but any good book suggestions that I can read online for free ? I’m kinda running out of mine lol.

ReplyWhat type of books do you like?
ReplyHmm I like a range but I’d say adventure and mystery ones ones for now
ReplyI’m so sorry I don’t really read any adventure or mystery books. You should try reading Manhua/manhwa’s if you haven’t already.
