All the adults in my family treat me like a child. I am sixteen and will be seventeen this summer. I'm a junior in high school. I help to cook and clean and watch the children. I am the one who brushes my siblings teeth and clean up after dinner. But my parents refuse to treat me like I am anything but a child. I try to tell them that I'm not, but my opinions and thoughts are irrelevant to them. How am I supposed to learn to be self-sufficient if they won't let me try? And it's not like I'm childish, either. I do my schoolwork, get good grades, never argue, do my chores, and watch out for my little siblings! How can I ask them to treat me with more respect?

What should you do?
Well... if they lie and accuse you... then you should just do it anyways. Like, why not go all out rather than being like “what are you talking about? I REALL...
Parents always thing they know what is best, but sometimes they don't, and most of the times they do. Maybe you should have a serious conversation with your parents and speak to them about the issue. Continue on helping with your siblings because if you don't who will. don't do anything self depreciating but hold them accountable for the way they are making you feel. I hope your problem is solved! have nice day!
