let me ask you a question...
why do we have to spend a quarter of our lives sitting in a silent classroom being stressed 24/7?
i don't know.
there is such a beautiful world out there to explore and we are missing it
our education system has failed us
they don't give a shit about our mental health
let alone if we've eaten today
or gotten a good night's rest
if you have one bad grade, it can keep you from doing your sports
which is basically the only thing keeping some of us alive
and some of the teachers are just doing it for the money
we're all exhausted and tired and sad
forced to learn for 7 hours every week
our only break is the weekend
but even that is not enough time to recover
in the blink of an eye, monday rolls around again
and you must go through the same process over and over
praying that you won't have a lot of homework
so you can spend time with your friends
because even they are struggling in school
year after year after year
it gets more and more difficult
for you to keep your eyes open
for you to turn everything like it's a life or death situation
for you to just try to stay focused on one thing
"due at 11:59"
one minute off and it's automatically late
a single letter can determine your fate
a single score can determine your future
school should be a fun environment filled with happiness and pure joy
but instead it is being filled with sorrow and anxiety
we should all learn the basic learning but after that
what's the point?
why should i need to know the quadratic formula but not life basics?
i don't know how to do my taxes, pay my bills, or even cook a decent meal
but that's okay because i know the difference between a sedimentary rock and a metamorphic rock
we should be able to do things that we're actually interested in
instead of being forced into learning the same useless things
if you answered my question in the same sort of way,
then we need to start doing something to change that
or it will never change
