People with mental issues need help, but they can't access it. Then when someone kills themselves, people run around shouting we need to reform mental health care and make it accessible. It never happens. Rinse and repeat.
I need help. I have been trying to get into therapy and get medicated and return to work, but that can only happen if someone accepts me as a patient and signs off on the papers.
I'm slowly going mad... and I'm crying. I'm distressed. I need help and have been doing the work to seek help, but I have nothing to show for it. I'm still holding onto the hope that I can get seen and get things straightened out, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to just give up and die.

ReplyHave you called 211? Or looked online for local resources?
Chances are you should be eligible for Medicaid or state funded health insurance. If you're unsure as to go about doing any of that or are under the age of 18/or are not a legal citizen, there should be local resources that will help.
I'd recommend checking churches, they're usually the ones who will offer heavily discounted services as well as medications.
Start with 211 and then I'd suggest going online for your state's guidelines for medical insurance, as a note if you're male some blue states won't give you full blown Medicaid unless you have a child, but they do usually have other heavily reduced medical insurance.
