can you have ptsd from toxic friendships? I really think I have one but Im still in denial since I have never set up an appointment with a psychiatrist and I dont want to assume myself.
I want to know so bad bc I want to know that nothings wrong with me and just because of my mental health

Perhaps if it's somebody who ghosted you. Actions are always remembered. Idk but I think so.
Replynaw its not just ghosting, they backstabbed me and destroyed my trust. And now they bully me every chance they get
ReplyHey there. Yes you can have ptsd from toxic friendships. PTSD is defined by flashbacks, nightmares, obsessive thoughts about any past event. The thing is, I think you can tone it down before it becomes a debilitating disorder. Maybe if you talk to someone about the toxic friendship (especially if you talk to a new friend) in a way that is reassuring that everything's ok, then you can get through it without developing a full disorder. Remember, it's all in the past, you survived it. So all is good!
Replythank you you for replying, I just want to feel reassurance. Ive never felt that in years bc of the trauma they gave me
ReplyThat's awful. I hope you meet people who are not like that. It sucks when you have such a bad experience, sometimes it can affect the way you think about others. But remember the person who got toxic is just 1 person. Try to surround yourself with nice people if you can :)
