There are different kinds of fear. Each one is distinctive, yet they are all centered around self preservation.
In my opinion, scared people are dangerous people.
When people are drowning, they panic. If you let go of the air you are holding inside you, the bubbles will show you the way up.
When you lose control of a car, you turn toward the direction the car is traveling in order to regain control.
So when we are afraid, maybe the answer is to turn toward what makes us afraid instead of running away.
Then again...
When the zombie apocalypse happens, if you are standing close to me, I'm tossing you at them. While they eat you, I'm making a run for it.

I think of this sometimes too, "they panic" If somethings serious is happening they wouldn't do anything but panic, also when something happens they have anxiety attacks and panic attacks and they start freaking out, I cant hang with ppl like that. It's stressful.
ReplyCourage is not the absence of fear, but the will to move forward and do the right thing in spite of fear. Sometimes we train for certain situations therefore we know how to respond in the literal instant a life threatening situation happens... other times we have hours if not days to work through our fear to something no one can train for... "in the name of love". Faith, time, hope and love - those 4 little "things" we cannot buy, hold or sell that have so much potential in our lives.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
ReplyYou make me giggle with your courtesy notice every time. It's sweet. I almost have every word memorized. Lol
