ReplyI play guitar to feel the pain on my fingers. I played until they get sore.
Replyuhhh really depends on what you're needing to cope with. If you're anxious, I suggest taking a walk or writing it down. Drink a hot, decaffeinated beverage, too! Like tea or hot chocolate. If it's coping with depression, you can do similar things, but things that are more beneficial for the mind. Reading, drawing, writing, art's and craft maybe. If you're not feeling very motivated, you can definitely just chill and watch something. Whatever it may be, personalize it for you. Find things that make you feel good and nourished, whole, even. Good luck, friend! Be kind to yourself:)
Replycoping mechanisms aren't always bad unless they turn into addictions/obsessions. i like reading, watching movies, learning instruments, etc and i used to self-harm so whenever i felt like cutting, i tried to focus on like doing something with my fingers like rubix cubes, drawing, etc. to distract myself
