Early this year I told my friends that I wanted to go to a school that is mostly known for their art and not their studies. They thought I was joking and ignored me. Yesterday me and my friends were talking about what school we want to go after we graduate ( which is this year). I told them the same school as I told them at the start of the year. They looked at me and said " Wait so you were not joking? That school's studies really sucks you know" I dont know why but after hearing that I feel like maybe the school is not really the one that I want. Yeah I want to go there for the art but the studies is not the best. The studies is not the best and not the worst. I want to be an artiest when I grow up, so yeah an art school will be great for me. But again, if being an artiest is not for me than I will not be able to do anything cause I spent almost my whole life on learning art and not the "real" subjects.
Should I change my choice of school? Should I just go to a normal school and just take art as a co-curricular activity? ( which means that the art that they teach is not that good)

Can u make any money at being an artist? An important thing to consider is your financial status I guess.
I wish I was going into a more artsy major, but I picked one thatβs more likely to make money... :(
If it is something you feel called to, please pursue it. You could be the next Van Gogh for all I know.
Follow your dreams, but just be careful and make sure ur able to have a plan for a potential part-time job on the side doing something else
Good luck!
ReplyThe only other things you need to lean are spelling, reading, writing, and math so go to the art school.
ReplyYou should go if that's what you want nobody should stop you from being who you want to be and doing what you feel is right. If you feel the school is right for you then you should go.
ReplyOmg if you want to go to the art GO! Seriously do not let anyone sway you from what you want. Think about the future. Will you be completely satisfied and happy if you don't attend the art school and choose a different career? I understand the money problem because I'm also trying to figure out what school I want to go to and what I want to do. The thing I want to be isnt really guaranteed to give me much money. I have big plans for what I want to do and money is a part of it lol so I'm also a lil conflicted. I still know for a fact that I'll π©π’π·π¦ to choose what I love instead of the money. I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and doing something that I don't enjoy.
I hope you choose what makes you the happiest. Don't settle, do something that'd fulfilling. And don't forget that if you pick a school or major and regret your choose, it's never too late to switch to something else. Maybe you can take a year off to explore and research different career paths and see what sparks your interest. I know a lot of people who have done that.
Good luck <33
