There’s two kinds of sadness
First
There’s the kind we’ve all come to know
The one that shows upon your face
The unnerving storms
The rivers of tears
The sleepless nights
The fearful darkness
We’re warned of the demons that arise among the clouds
Told to not let it consume you
But
The thing about rain
Is it’s beautiful impermanence
The clouds always clear
And the sun reappears brighter
Though this sadness may be painful
It comes and goes
As do the seasons
Then
There’s the kind unwritten and unheard
Not so much a storm
But rather
A void some can’t help but fall in to
These monsters are inescapable
They seep into your skin
Taking shelter in your heart
And there they stay
You may find you’re still able to breath
Smile
And even laugh
As your insides are dissolving
Into the slow and quiet murmur
Of timeless sorrow
Making sadness your new home
Till forever’s end
