I'm looking for a job while I am living with my parents. Sadly, my mother and I do not get along and I am afraid that our bad relationship dynamic will destroy any motivation I have to seek employment. With in-person interviews starting up again, how do I look for a job without my mother knowing? If I'm hired, I'll tell her. But while I am just job hunting I don't want her to know what I am doing, especially not after that one time she said potential employers will think I am a drug addict since I have a GED credential and no work experience (for the record, I now have an associate of arts degree- a type of transfer degree, and am currently on hiatus from university due mostly to family conflicts).
Anyway, I need to find a job and I don't want my mother to kill my motivation. Any advice would be welcome.

Even if you get the job keep it secret.
ReplyOP here. I've done some thinking since I posted this. What if my problem is how I handle my mother's negativity? I'm wondering if that's what I need advice on, more or less.
