What are you looking for?
Jake has a small heart attack (I'm bored in class -_-)
2 months ago · · Bored,
I quickly turned to the left. My feet pounded on the ground making a loud thud thud thud on the hard concrete. I stopped when I realized I had just turned into a dead end.
"Just my luck." I said aloud as I put my back to the wall and aimed my pistol to the corner of the alley. I knew I was being chased, the question was, what is chasing me? My best guess was demon though it could be a devil. I shivered, hopefully it's not a devil, those guys terrifying. I kept my eyes on the corner I had just come from. I let out a sigh of relief as a slow ghoul began walking out of the corner. "Thank god! I was scared for nothing." The ghoul turned to me as if he could understand what I just said and screeched. I raised my pistol up and shot it in the head. The ghoul dropped dead. suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I looked down and my eyes widened as I saw a blade sticking out of my chest. A low whisper reached my ears.
"Thank god? Oh no poor spirit hunter. God isn't helping you here." The blade retracted from my chest as I fell down onto my knees. The thing, came up in front of me letting me get a good look at it. A 4 star devil. I reached up and grabbed my walkie talkie. "4 star devil in the area, I repeat 4 star devil in the area. Damn, just my luck huh?" I spit out some blood as the devil crouched down to my level. It had pitch black leathery skin. It's blood red eyes bore into mine but I didn't flinch. He looked surprisingly human besides those facts and of course the long tail that swung from side to side behind him. Devils usually weren't that ugly, now demons, that's a different story. He raised his hand and patted me on the head.
"You fell for the easiest trick in the book. A simple distraction and you let your guard down. I expected more from a spirit hunter. But wow you're still alive, I stabbed you in your heart you know? I guess its your control of spirit that's keeping you alive. I heard that an experienced enough spirit hunter could survive for an hour without their head. How about we test that?" The devil brought his blade to my neck. I tried lifting my soul splitter gun but I had to keep my spirit focused on my wound. Oh well, I would die anyways. I quickly lifted the weapon and sent a shot straight at the devils face. The bullet made contact and the devil let out a pained scream. The world started fading around me. I quickly focused on my wound again and I steadied my breathing. The devil recovered from the attack and looked down at me again. A new wound running from the top of his eyebrow down across his eye to his chin.
"Oh man I shouldn't have underestimated you either huh? I you would've been just a bit quicker I might have not been able to put up a spirit defense. Why aren't you talking? Oh you're conserving your energy. Any last words?"
I thought for a second. This really was the end of me. I released concentration and began saying my final words. "Live for me... Lisa. I'll always lov-" The devil swiftly sliced Jake's head off.
"You took too long." With that the devil walked off licking the blood of his blade. He giggled to himself. "Oh man, now I know who my next target is! Hope you're ready Lisa!"
