You don't "want what's best" for your kids. You just think you do.

The parents who SAY that they "want what's best" for their kids are so full of shit.
These are the parents who won't let their kids participate in Halloween because of THEIR religion. They have asshole rules about what their kids can and can't wear. If THEIR religion forbids pork, they won't let their kids eat it, either. You don't "want what's best" for your kids, otherwise you wouldn't have a bunch of mean rules for them that don't even make any sense! If you REALLY wanted what was best for your kids, you'd let them decide for themselves if they liked pork or not, or wanted to go Trick or Treating, or that they wanted to wear pants instead of a skirt. But you don't. Your asshole rules are mutually exclusive to you "wanting what's best" for your kids. I guess misery loves company, so you have to treat them mean just because you think you have to follow your dumb religious rules yourself, and you actually don't.
