Delicate and free
Like a feather, lightlessy
She’s flying beside the wind
So high, she flows
Raised up on a throne
Held up by hearts of silver
Yearning for hers of gold
A star, she is
So much light in her face
In day and in night
Never misplaced
For her skin, sewed so tight
Everywhere, she fits
She’s always allowed to be
Oh, how they long to know the secret
Behind such magical beauty
So envious silver hearts
Take enchanting golden hues
And paint away silver impurities
Wrongfully hopeful
Washing away all originality
They catch her golden heart
Search and search to find its beat
A source or recipe
To possessing her effortless grace
Yet, they come up empty
Without a trace or a sound
And suddenly, they realize
What they’d longed for
Was already found
For it wasn’t her perfect face of symmetry
That made the earth’s eyes glow
It wasn’t how her body moved like mist
Without a single crease
But how she let herself be in the midst of uncertainty
That set apart silver from gold
And so, tears of distraught slipped down their silver frames
Melting away the meaningless facade
Knowing now
They’ve wasted silver life’s golden years
Chasing someone else’s beauty
While overlooking their own
