I feel sad for the person I am and used to be. It feels like I’ve been in survival mode my entire life. I want to hold all the past and future versions of myself so often that I forget to stop and hold my present version. When they talk about childhood trauma I often forget that it doesn’t just mean trauma from when you’re a toddler or a preteen. 16 year old me all the way up to my present self is included. I’m young and have experienced so much already. We can’t forget to heal those ages that never quite fit into the diagnostic age ranges. Spend too much time in your own head and you’ll forget how to find your way to the truth. Don’t get lost on your journey of healing by building your walls into a defensive echo chamber. Break it down and heal. Hug yourself.
