My sister is nearing disabled at this point—doctors still won’t see her

My 12-year old sister has slowly been developing chronic pain over the last few years. About a month ago, she woke up with her limbs swollen and in agony. It’s very slowly getting worse.
Her gp is a saint. Ordered testing and put in referrals to specialists. But her blood draw came back negative for autoimmune disorders, and now all of the specialists are refusing to see her.
It hurts so much, seeing her in pain. She loves being outdoors, but yesterday she went on a walk for less than a half hour and soon after was unable to speak because it hurt so much. I want to be able to help her. I want to be able to heal her.

I hope your sister becomes healthy & these doctor come to their senses
ReplyThis is terrible, I’m so sorry for your sister and you too. Has she seen an allergist? It sounds like a severe (possibly deadly) allergy to me. Regular doctors might miss this because they’re too focused on chronic internal disorders & sickness. But if she is suddenly experiencing these symptoms with no internal cause then the cause must be external, right? It’s interesting that she went for a walk outside, and it is now nearly springtime with pollen, before she came back with a severe reaction.
The good news is that most allergies are overcome naturally, especially in younger patients whose immune systems are still developing. So in theory her reactions will get less severe until they stop happening completely. But she is suffering so she needs some short term relief when the attacks are bad.
I recommend Benadryl (diphenhydramine HCl) because it can be purchased over the counter, cheap, safe, no known dangers. You don’t even need a doctor, it’s like taking aspirin for a headache. Maybe give this a try? At least then you’ll know if it’s allergies or not.
PS I know all this because my mom has severe allergies and has been hospitalized many times. She’s seen dozens of doctors and they all tell her to keep Benadryl close by so she can take it as soon as she feels an attack. So it’ll give her time to get to the hospital.
ReplyHey I have CPRS this sounds like a case like mine all my tests came back negative and CPRS is a progressive syndrome causing limbs to hurt I. It can't be diagnosed with a blood test. It's a really good chance that's what it is.
