My wife and I are swingers and, for that reason, we've had sexual encounters with many folks.
When we meet someone new, we typically sit around for a while, have some drinks, and share stories about what we've done, what we like, and what we don't like. I know some of the newbies are pretty reserved because they are afraid we'll judge them for liking one kink or another but, over time, we've really heard it all.
You just get confirmation that everyone likes something different - younger people, older people, sensual, rough, quiet, loud, etc.
There is no need to be ashamed of your kink and, while you can't obviously discuss at work, it is something you should be able to talk to your friends about. They'll probably have a good tease with you about it but, if they are true friends, they'll then keep that to themselves and reveal their kink as well. In time, you'll meet someone who is into what you like.
If I may make a suggestion, you may wish to not let that cat out of the bag right away or, if you do, don't expect those things to happen "the first time". For example, I may like Cheerleader costumes but I wouldn't expect someone I'm sleeping with, for the first time, to wear a costume. Maybe we just fool around and have a good time. Later, I may ask her if she would feel comfortable wearing a costume.
For you, baby steps may be involved. Maybe ask, in one session, that he boss you around a bit. If it's something he's never done before, he may find that he likes it. Later, on another session, you could do the same but add a collar to the mix - just wear it but don't insist that he pull it or choke or something - just wear it. On the next session, maybe you cross another bridge.
I guess I'm advising that you ease your sexual partner into it by having them put their toes in the water to check the temp before just throwing them into the deep end of the pool.
