This is a problem I’ve had since elementary school. I easily become antsy and stressed whenever there are small, annoying sounds like humming or tapping or even talking. Sometimes there are certain movements others make or ways they pronounce things that bother me as well. I end up snapping at people I care about, and even though I’m quick to apologize, I still feel guilty. I don’t know why I have this problem and honestly, I don’t want it anymore. The anger I feel is such a hard thing to describe, because it just comes without warning. It overtakes my mind and my body and it’s just fucking terrible. If anyone has any idea why I’m like this, please let me know.

Honestly, that sounds kind of like me pre autism therapy. It might be worth doing some research on autism and ADHD to see if anything seems to clip. If it does, it may or may not be worth looking into getting a formal diagnosis, although that step can be tricky and, again, is optional. Hope this helps!

ReplyYeah I was diagnosed with ADHD in 6th grade, I probably should’ve mentioned that, but I guess I didn’t want to admit that it was the main cause of my irritation, because I’m pretty sure it’s not the only cause.
ReplyIf you are perhaps stressed, or lacking something in your daily life, maybe this could be the issue that is resulting from this. I get easily angry at those who make noises, etc when I’m trying to concentrate or sleep. It could also be because of another underlying issue, but I hope that it gets resolved for you. I am no expert, so I won’t be 100% right..
ReplyIt could be worth going to the doctor about it but also for me meditation helped with that kinda thing. But learning how to mediate properly and practicing often.
