I would save my dogs, because they can’t open doors by themselves (and I’d have to keep hold of them, because they’re part husky and part greyhound so once they start running they don’t stop!). The way I see it, if you domesticate an animal then you’ve taken its freedom and independence away, so you have to be responsible for it.
As far as sentimental things go…I’d have to try and save my childhood stuffed toy, because like it says in the velveteen rabbit, love made him real (so losing him would hurt).
My parents would probably get themselves out. I’d save all my houseplants if I could, but there’s so many of them…
I have hoarding tendencies and love so many things, too many to save. I wonder if there’s a metaphor in there somewhere?
This prompt is probably good for people looking to declutter lol
What would you save first, and what would you go back into the flames for? Which is more meaningful?

In terms of sentimental stuff, I would save my diaries, a couple of yearbooks, my childhood stuffed toy and, if possible, some useful stuff like my phone, headtorch, water bottle etc.
But more meaningfully, what would I go back into the flames for? My family, obviously. And there are two other people I'd risk (probably even sacrifice) my life for, so them as well. In a heartbeat. But no physical possessions would be worth the danger.
