My mom and I have been rather distant for a few months now. I cut her out of my life when she told me, a fully employed, no criminal history, rents and pays my own bills, and owns my car, Also no debt, that I'm her worst child... Mind you... My brother is currently in prison for several sex related crimes. My sister is on her 2nd child and her 2nd husband. I've been with my wife 7 years.. am I the bad one for cutting her out of my life? The reason why I'm the bad one.. I smoke weed. I'm not even shitting you. Any advice would be nice and greatly appreciated.

There's honestly no advice required except for you to know that even if your siblings had been all well off, our worth in't determined in terms of other people. And if your mom even dares to make a comparison between her own children, then that's wrong basic parenting. It's admirable how you have turned out regardless of all those factors, so always give yourself credit when it is due.
ReplyShe is disappointed in herself. You are doing better than she is and the other kids. Seeing you above others upsets her. Some people rather see others fail then succeed.
Try to stop smoking. Weed may be legal, but you are using it to avoid something in your life. Face whatever issue you got and try even harder to be a better person. Only live up to your standards and your wife and hopefully your kids standard of YOU.
ReplyAlthough studies have proven that weed impairs the ability to operate mechanical devices (e.g. cars), smoking weed within your own 4 walls only hurts you so long as no one unintended is inhaling the stuff. Apart from that, you seem like you have your priorities in order and you have a respect for other people's lives. Prayers for us all, that we see the light and live by the light, before the light finds us. Best of luck.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow, including the teachings of Christ Jesus. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required, although the former and latter are admirable if practiced freely out of one's own free will and without the threat of being beheaded. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Mark 12:28-31
And Christ Jesus said the 2 greatest commandments are:
Love God first and foremost.
Love your fellow-being as you love yourself.
From following or not following these, all good or evil cascades, respectively.
