I'm a teenage girl from Southeast Asia. For five years I have been wearing a mask whenever I go out. For me, Covid made me very happy because people no longer questioned why I always wore a mask. Most of people have started to stop wearing masks so it's like I'm the only one again now. My summer break is going to end on the End of August. I'm a little worried because I think that I've always been this way. Since I was a little girl I had no friends and couldn't talk to others. I started wearing a mask in junior high. This has been my life since as long as I can remember, hating myself and alone. But I don't want to be this way. I wish I had friends I could spend my vacations with. I wish I could wear the clothes that I liked without worrying what other people thought. I only want to love myself. I know that it's very irrational to think like this. But the thing about irrational thinking, is that you just can't reason logically with it. I don't even know if it's possible for me to change. What are your tips?

Self-Esteem is hard. It was hard for me too. I love wearing a mask wherever I go as well. It just makes me feel comfortable. I've slowly accepted myself as who I am as my own person. I'm positive you can be confident in yourself as well! I just thought of some things that I like about myself, and that made me a bit more confident in myself. I bet you can think of some good qualities you have, and you'll start to see yourself as someone your proud of! I have all hope in you. I'm sorry that you had to feel this way as well. I relate, but trust me, as long as you come to find things you like about yourself, you'll love yourself more.

ReplyAct like you think you are amazing. Flaunt your beautiful body and beautiful skin! wear what makes you feel amazing and you will look amazing. The first step towards self esteem is self validation. Every morning wake up look in the mirror and find one thing you like about yourself then just chant in your head or out loud "I am pretty" because you are. Making friends is all about being open and understanding just go out and talk to some new people!
