To err amongst the side of hope
Through lofty trials begot of smoke
carry weight of uneven yoke
And walk the stones of hope revoked
For pain can both breakdown and build
Yet truer faith is ever still
Shall love begin and grow anew
Or fester cold as red to blue
As time elapsed and beauty wanes
To be stray in crowds of friends
In reverie of picture frames
This too will never end
Bound by fate the cords unravel
Four strands and yet a fifth remains
Dash the rocks that turn to gravel
Look what broken hearts became
Though deeper still the waters Grey
Brought forth from lack of trust
Harken still your strength within
And conquer sinful lust
Blight the curse that erodes the heart
The time has not yet come
At the end is where we start
eternal life begun

I lost my son this year, he was the 5th strand I wrote of. I wrote this before he passed without knowing he was going to pass. He lived 23 hours. Reading this poem back, put him heavily on my heart. I've never been the same since losing him, nor will I ever be. Me and his mother held him until his last breathe. I love you son.
ReplyHow sad. You have my deepest sympathy and your poem is very good. Make sure you keep it in memory of your son.
ReplyThank you, sincerely
