The toy elephant in my room

In my room, in my cupboard, stand he, winking at me all the time :)

He was there before when I was born,

when I was losing my milky teeth,

when I was popping my pimples,

when I fell in love for the first time,

when I had my heart broken many times later,

when my hair turned gray.

Now my heart is tired,

I work everyday like a boring adult,

Read books and nod off,

He stands there, winking at me, the small wooden toy elephant.

Few people have left, and I have left few for my own peace,

I needed it to cope with the loss,

No matter what happens

I hope you be with me till the day I turn to dust.
