I had my first session with a new therapist today. I wish it was easier to share my thoughts and emotions. I was pretty nervous picking at my cuticles and then I started picking at the loose thread of the tag on my jacket. By the end of the session the tag was gone. I feel like we didn't talk about any real issues yet, but I understand it was just the first meeting and we talked about the easier stuff. I'm actually grateful she hadn't asked about the more sensitive information I put on the intro survey. She asked me to write down and track when I get intrusive or self critical thoughts. It's a good idea, but I'm nervous she'll judge or even agree with them. Which sounds stupid, but I'll get over it.

ReplyI get the same way I can't stop fidgeting and sweating from nerves during therapy.. it's weird. But ur not alone
