I'm a straight girl, always have been and I'm very comfy with that identity. But idk, why don't I feel feminine enough? What even is feminine?
I don't know if I'm happy with the way I'm presenting myself. 70% of the time, I wear clothes that are more on the 'tomboy-ish' side. The other 30% of the time, I wear traditonally 'girly' clothes. But I can't help but feel insecure that I'm not as 'girly' enough to feel as a valid girl, yk?
I don't wear make-up because I've never owned any before, and I still don't. I don't know the first thing about it, I never had a girly-make-up phase in my early teens like others did. So now, I do not want to wear makeup because I'm physically comfortable without any. But it makes me feel a bit... sad and out of place with the rest of the girls around me. I'm 19 and have never ever worn make-up at all, I never went to my high-school prom, never been out with a group of friends...
Idk if these lack of experiences is even linked to the fact that I feel insecure with how feminine I am portrayed but it does bother me a lot nowadays. I would like to be a bit more girly. I love jewellery, even though I don't own a lot of it. But I also like wearing huge sweatshirts with baggy trousers and sneakers. They're comfy.
But at the same time, I love the idea of being an elegant and sophisticated looking young lady. But I have never felt that in reality because it seems like I don't fit that mould.

Buridan's Insecure Ass
I want to create something for people to enjoy, but I don’t have the natural talent to do so without first learning how, and I lack the patience and self-moti...
Don’t base your comparisons on social media or advertisements (magazines) because these people are highly professionally made up, photoshopped and probably have plastic surgery.
Eat healthy, exercise and experiment with your style. Feminine is an energy more than a look. Maybe your energy feels masculine because of other things in your life, like being a go getter. You can have both. It’s a balance.
ReplyBuy some lip gloss and just wear that for a start with a skirt and a baggy jumper even if you aren't going out and when you feel okay with that buy some eyeliner and add that to your make up and wear a nice top with the skirt and flat shoes. Gradually add more make up and girly clothes until you feel comfortable like this. Buy a lovely long dress, high heels, a nice bag, lip gloss, eyeliner, false eyelashes, and blusher and aim to wear all of these at the same time especially if you are going somewhere nice.
