it’s no one’s fault but mine. the effects of my decisions. it’s my fault for thinking i could be more. i could leave the cycle of minimum wage and go to university and get the degree. i was proven wrong quickly. this is not for me. want to hear something funny. i had completed my assignment, but turned it in 4 weeks late. it was finished and waiting on my desktop to be turned it, but my hands could never submit it. i really have no idea why. why is it so difficult to meet deadlines, show up to class, turn in completed work, or finish work that i carved out time to work on. i really have no answer. i guess that’s proof enough that this isn’t for me. so i’ll pack my shit and tuck my tail between my legs and go back home. the fact that i even thought i could do this is hilarious. i’m really proving everyone right that i don’t belong here.fuck

Idk what year you are in, but don't quit after your first year. College is hard, and nothing really prepares you for the change. The first year is the hardest, and the longer you are there the easier it gets to manage classes and schoolwork. Also, look into counselling services on campus and try to figure out if you have something going on that would require disability services. These are often given to students with mental health issues and allows for more flexible due dates upon other things. Talking to your assigned academic advisor about your struggles can also be helpful in exploring your options regarding grades and programs to help you in school. Lastly, if you still don't think college is for you, please don't beat yourself up about it. There are other ways to become successful, and a degree does not define your intelligence or your worth.
Sincerely, a 3rd year student at university.
ReplyDon't give up entirely on college. Sometimes you need to take time away and focus on other areas of your life before going back and finishing.
ReplyIt sounds like you may be self-sabataging yourself. Consider finishing the semester/quarter and over your break regroup. Take time to rest, reflect, learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself, and find new ways to prepare for the next semester. Look into the various resources offered at your college to help you stay one-track, maybe sign-up for counseling sessions or tutoring thru your college, learn about time management and studying techniques and tools, etc. If you feel you need a break from college, like the other commentor stated, then that's okay and normal. College can be tough and a lot of work. Don't be so hard on yourself and you are not a failure.
