advice for college from a senior

i'm starting finals week for my almost last semester of college, i have one more semester. i graduate in spring 2023. i cannot believe it has been 4 years already. i really did not want to go to college right after high school because i was tired of learning. but you know what? i have loved college. i have learned so much and made connections. i am a wildlife major and it has been the best decision to make ever. i have learned so much from plants, trapping, identification, and handling wildlife.

my advice to someone who is scared to go to college- find what you love, there's probably a major or minor for it somewhere. i love animals so learning more about them is awesome. if you love what you are studying, then it makes school work fun.

take notes! my freshman year i had no idea how to take notes and struggled a lot. write down short things from the lecture presentations and important comments your professor says about it. also i have learned, if they say it twice, you probably should write it down and underline it because it will be useful.

USE QUIZLET! this has been so helpful for me especially for identification because i can put in scientific names and pictures.

and PLEASE, ASK QUESTIONS! if you are confused on a topic, ask your professor or classmates. it is more important that you understand the material than being worried about talking to someone. i get it, i am a terribly shy person but if i would have started asking questions when i started college, i would have understood things much faster.
