I know it's gross and embarrassing, but that's what happens after dealing with depression for a few years. I feel and look like an absolute mess. I also haven't been very good at even simpler tasks like washing my face or brushing my teeth. I don't know what's wrong with me. Once I get into this habit I just can't stop and it makes me feel so shitty. Everytime I think, "Ok, today is the day I will begin doing these things again" I forget or I just get so tired and I can't be bothered.
It sounds so fucking pathetic but I can't even bother to clean my room or make my bed. I'm not a messy person, but I can see the dust pile up. I hate this. I want to get up and clean myself until my skin burns from all of the scrubbing. But I can't seem to get of my ass and I hate myself for it.

Been there. I know it sucks. When you start to feel like, "today is the day" don't worry about starting it all back up at once. Just go brush your hair. And if you don't feel like doing anything else, then don't. If you find that after you brush your hair, you might as well brush your teeth, do it. I find that just ensuring that I put on jeans in the morning makes me feel like I have more energy to do stuff. Be patient with yourself. Depression is hard. You can do it. ❤

ReplyJust pick 1 thing. A small thing. The smallest. Brush your hair or your teeth. Then do something else. Just no pressure. Motivate yourself but don't pressure yourself. Or go to a hairdresser and get them to wash your hair and cut it. It might be a good boost for you ❤️
