Mature is when you're in the garden not as a child; not as a person who expects the flower for eternity or thinks the grass can caress you forever. Being mature is having the willful awareness of snakes that might come at any time, the knowledge of how flowers die, and the thorns that bleed innocent thumbs. Being mature is to be a good gardener, a wise author, and a transcended one with a desire for good to exist in others despite having powerful reasons to do otherwise; despite resentment, despite the hatred, despite anything — A smiley figure with wounded ribs, that's what you could be. Now ask, can you be mature right now?
