that girl was cancer to her core.
smiling came as easily as bawling
and no matter how much she'd bled
she wore her heart on her sleeve.
in her presence, the mundane came
dressed in moonlight and pearls
and without even trying she drew you in
and made you see the magic too.
she was empathetic and intuitive
that each time she cried, i swear
the very stars fell from her eyes
