How can I make money

2 months ago · 1 · Stress, +8

I am 16 and want to earn money. I currently am employed in a restaurant but my boss gives me 3-4 hours per week at a pay of $8.75 per hour. I had another job at another restaurant but I had to move and it was too far away from my house. I am looking for side hustles to make more money. I have a car and a driver's license as well as a computer. I am bilingual. I have thought of many ways but I don't know how to implement them. I want to try teaching English/and or Spanish, proofreading/ and or writing papers but none seem to work. When I was enrolled in English, I would write the student's papers for $20, but I can no longer do that. I am currently thinking about photography. I enjoy it as a hobby and my dad has a Nikon camera I could borrow. If I learn photoshop and how to use the camera I could sell pictures online and promote some on a social media page. Similarly, I have thought of becoming an influencer on social media, but I can't because no one takes me seriously. I am limited because my parents don't support my decisions of me finding a side hustle. I want to become financially independent and work for myself. Everyday that I am at work I think about how I could make my own business and generate income for myself. I dread the thought of working for a company or someone else. I have searched online but all online companies require you to be 18+. What can I do?

Age and parent support is definitely an issue sometimes when it comes to finding a job and sticking with it, but I think I could give you a few suggestions. First off, photography is a great hobby!! You could post photos and see how many likes you get over a month, and if you do well then maybe look into selling them on different items (blankets, ornaments, etc.)! You could also try being a translator for a little while with your bilingual skill. I know six languages (Spanish, English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Malaysian), and have worked as a translator before. It pays well and looks good on a resume!! Also, I know this is probably a last resort for you and most people, but taking pictures of your feet and selling them pays so much more than you would think-. Back when I was fifteen, I used to have an anonymous profile and sold pictures of my feet for six bucks (or higher depending on what people offered). I know it sounds weird, but I was in a tight spot for money and this ended up making me around 700 a month! Anyway, hopefully I helped somewhat. I hope you find a good paying job very soon <3
