Fighting to stay above water when the waves keep pulling you down.
Further..
And further...
Drifting further out to sea, searching desperately for the light of dry land.
It's cold and wet like being six feet under, suffocating and clawing the top of your coffin for air.
Greedy hands that wretched inside your precious body, twisting your innocence into a grotesque funhouse mirror.
People look into it and laugh at their funny new shapes, but to you, it's just your reflection.
A body that is no longer your own, ravaged by forein invaders with plans you could not have known.
You fought valiantly, but you were small and they were big.
They stab at your insides with fleshy spears that pierce again and again.
You could not say "no" loud enough to make them hear you, your pleas will fall on deaf ears.
Your only home a hollow shell, and it begins to fill with icy liquid and self loathing.
If only you could make your body yours again, would be able to stay afloat?
The waves close in above your head, screams silenced by the salty taste of murky water.
