My 3 Wishes

By Novni Community Member

Everyone has heard the story of the genie in the lamp. You rub the lamp and magically the genie appears to grant you 3 of your most desirable wishes.

Have you ever asked yourself what your wishes would be? I mean truly looked deep down inside yourself to answer those 3 wishes with what would make you happy? Not just your impulsive self that would wish for what everyone else wishes for: "A billion $", "to be famous and adored", "to be happy".

I answer that question a lot of the time with the typical answers. But, if for a moment, once I really think about it, these would be mine...

  1. To see my daughters again. Coming up Thursday, it will be 2 yrs since the heated fights and arguments between my ex and I began, that has kept me from seeing them.
  2. To forgive. To everyone that somehow made a choice that to them was in their own best interest that hurt me, whether selfish or not. And to forgive myself. For all the times I let others down, and especially let myself down, knowing that I could have done better
  3. To find some selfless joy that makes me happy. To find joy in the world with no particular reward for myself. To love success of other's lives, to find joy in ones that find love, happiness, and always have things go their way regardless of their actions.

I am human and can't ever expect myself not to be. But if I could, in a magical world, have 3 wishes, these would be them.

Forgiveness, wishes
